Associate Professor in Cell Biology
My group models human skin conditions in ex-vivo and in vitro model systems, using cell and molecular approaches to understand fundamental mechanisms underpinning healthy and pathological tissue responses. We established the Norwich Skin Platform, through which we are expanding the use of our human skin ex-vivo models across the academic and industrial sectors. Our specific interests include:
- Characterization of cutaneous melanoma margins and tumour microenvironment using quantitative proteomic and MALDI imaging mass spectrometry
- Developing new models for exploring primary melanoma cell invasion in human skin explants: cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions in melanoma migration
